Resources and energy development brings both opportunities and challenges for regional and rural communities.

Local communities play an important role when projects are proposed and with the right information and support, they can shape project outcomes that benefit the region long into the future.

As an independent statutory body, our role is to provide clear information, practical guidance, and opportunities to ask questions, share concerns, and hear directly from industry and government about projects in their region.

We also share community feedback with industry and decision-makers to help improve how projects are planned and delivered.

Communities live and work in the regions where development occurs.

With access to clear information and opportunities to ask questions, they are better able to share their perspectives.

Coexistence Queensland brings together practical information and resources to support community participation in discussions about projects in their region.

"Having these conversations where everything can be discussed in a transparent, low-temperature way – we're being respectful, everybody's views are respected and considered, listened to, and heard – it helps us have a more meaningful conversation."

Kylie Porter

CEO Greater Whitsunday Alliance
