Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

Supporting cultural respect and informed participation in resources and energy projects

Acknowledgement of Country

Coexistence Queensland acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples and Traditional Custodians of the lands, waters, and skies across Queensland. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their continuing cultural leadership and connection to Country.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have cared for Country for tens of thousands of years, maintaining knowledge and cultural connection across generations.

We recognise there is much to learn from Traditional Custodians about caring for Country and the right way to do business. We are committed to listening, learning, and continuing to build relationships based on trust and respect.

"We we want to be involved, we want to be in the conversation, we want to be in decision-making... It's about Country and how we can give this Country to our children, something that lasts forever and ever."
