Our work

Our role is to encourage open conversations, provide clear information, and share practical solutions. We:

  • Help people understand their rights, responsibilities, obligations, and options
  • Provide clear, independent information you can rely on
  • Strengthen relationships between communities, government, and industry
  • Listen to concerns and respond in a practical way.

We work with landholders, regional communities, industry, government, and other non-government organisations to support positive coexistence of industries and workable outcomes for all.

Gas

Queensland produces natural gas – largely from coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins – supplying domestic energy, manufacturing and LNG exports.

Solar

Large-scale solar farms operate across parts of Queensland, generating electricity and involving land access and planning processes.

Wind

Wind farms operate in several regions of Queensland, generating electricity for the state's electricity network, and involves land access and planning processes.

Battery energy storage systems

Battery Energy Storage Systems store electricity – often from solar and wind – and release it back into the grid when needed.

Transmission

Transmission infrastructure connects generation projects to the statewide electricity network, and may involve accessing private land.

Minerals

Queensland’s minerals sector includes prospecting, exploration, and mining for resources such as coal and critical minerals, operating under state regulation.
